Ajmal Bhatty has over 25 years of international experience in the insurance and financial sectors. Ajmal is an actuary and chartered insurer by profession from UK and his core competencies include change management, stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation, brand building, business durability and good governance.

He is experienced at C-level, senior management and Board positions with HSBC – serving UK, Malaysia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and UAE, with Tokio Marine in the Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt), in Takaful International, Arab Insurance Group in Bahrain, Qatar General Insurance and Old Mutual and Shield Assurance UK.

Ajmal is a thought leader in Takaful, with pioneering research, working with institutions in several countries and standard setting bodies and regulators (AAOIFI, IFSB, Regulators in the UK, Bahrain, Brunei, Malaysia) and served as member of special international committee of IsDB and Bank Negara Malaysia to develop and promote takaful amongst members of Organization of Islamic Countries. He was awarded for “Outstanding Contributions to Takaful” by the International Takaful Summit, London in 2015.
